We’ve all been eagerly waiting forZack Snyder’s Justice League. But before that, the visionary director has been a part of several interviews in the past 6 months or so. He has revealed a lot of details about his originalDCEUplans, and other projects likeNetflix’sArmy of the Dead. Very recently, he took part in a longinterview with the ComicBook Debate YouTube channel.He talked about several aspects of his filmmaking career, including his Marvel dream project.
Snyder revealed thatJustice Leagueis 99% done, with less than a hundred VFX shots left to be completed. He confirmed that for now, he has no plans forJustice League 2or 3. He also talked about the additional footage that he has added into his four-hour cut. But apparently,Justice Leaguewasn’t all that Snyder talked about. He talked about theBatman V Superman: Dawn of JusticeIMAX remaster, and answered questions for Star Wars and Marvel projects as well.
When asked whether he’d like to direct aStar Warsmovie, he replied with a definite yes. But along with that, he also answered the question of which Marvel project he’d like to direct. To everyone’s surprise, his dream project is Frank Miller’s“Elektra Lives Again.”He stated:
“I would choose Electra Lives Again. Do you know that Frank Miller comic book? It’s a graphic novel about, Daredevil is having these dreams about Elektra coming to life, and it’s really cool and weird, and it’s all Lynn Varley-painted, the color and it’s like, it’s just cool and beautiful. That’s what I would do.”
Considering the fact that Snyder got close to directing a Wolverine movie, one would have thought that his dream project would be Wolverine. But apparently, that isn’t the case. As much as we’d love to see his take on Elektra andDaredevil, it is quite unlikely that he’d ever get to do that. Marvel probably won’t be doing a Daredevil/Elektra movie. At best, they’d give these characters a TV series, and place them in other crossover projects. But this world has many ways of surprising us. So, let’s see what the future holds for Snyder, DC, and Marvel.
