Kate Winslet Questioned Her Feelings Towards Leonardo DiCaprio While FilmingTitanic
Kate Winslet revealed that during filming an iconic scene with Leonardo DiCaprio in theTitanic, she had a lapse in her feeling towards the actor. She mentioned in an interview that during the intimate scene between Jack and Rose, which takes place in a Renault touring car in the hold of the ship, the line between acting and reality became quite blurry for her.
“Doing that scene,‘it so wasn’t us. And yet, we were so locked into what all that had to be about. The Rose in me was really sort of loving the Jack in him, actually. And even though I didn’t feel that way about Leo, it was quite nice to sort of feel that way in the scene. It was quite lovely. And then, y’know, the camera stopped rolling, and he gets up and walks off, and the scene’s done. And I remember lying there thinking, ‘What a shame that’s over.’ Because it was quite nice. It was.”

She stated that she got a little too into her character, forgetting for a second that she was not Rose from the movie and DiCaprio was not Jack and got a little carried away. She added that even though she did not have feelings for him, that moment felt very nice to her. After the scene was over, however, she was quite disappointed for a second at DiCaprio’s indifference.
