TikTok Trend Takes Over Theatres DuringThe Rise of Gru

This has landed several theatre owners in a dire crisis situation, as people who are unaware or not taken up by the joke are demanding a refund of their tickets claiming their movie experience has been ruined. A quite frustrated manager at Vue Cinema in Worcester claims,

“The trend cost me £1,300 yesterday. I had to refund all of the tickets in that theatre because of kids shouting and mimicking the Minions while the film was playing. It was a group of about eight kids. Now, when we see any kids coming in to see the film dressed up we give them a warning. We tell them that if there is one complaint, whatever that may be, they will be kicked out of the cinema. It’s something being implemented across a lot of cinemas, I have colleagues in Cheltenham who I know have had problems as well.”

All I can say is…man, people must be seriously bored. You want to go to the latest Minions movie? Fine. You want to wear a suit? Fine. But screaming during the movie and throwing shit is only funny to you. I feel bad for the actual kids trying to watch and on- (Cont.)

Im completely fine with people going to see the movie in suits and stuff. But don’t go out there with large groups and screaming when the intro shows. Its overwhelming for these kids, they just want to enjoy Minions goofing around. Not some guys going hog wild.. Behave lmao.

Several other theatres were luckily not destroyed by the ruckus caused during the screening. Theatre managers in several places had refused entry to moviegoers dressed in suits and in some places, the party was complacent enough to respect the decorum of the theatre.
