Pedro Pascal is a man of many talents and it is this very versatility that he wears like a stunning insignia that makes him one of the leading actors in the film industry today. The panoply of critically acclaimed projects that the Chilean-American heartthrob possesses, the likes of which includeThe Mandalorian,Game of Thrones, andNarcos, to list a few, attest to the same.

Pedro Pascal

But as cherished as he might be among fans, he certainly doesn’t seem to be people’s first choice to play DC’s Batman, or a choice at all, for that matter.

Batman

Could Pedro Pascal Don the Fabled Cape of The Dark Knight?

The world has seen an array of iterations of the titular knight in shining armor of Gotham over the years, for better or for worse. From Val Kilmer’s appalling outing as Bruce Wayne to the likes of Michael Keaton and Christian Bale transforming the legacy of the superhero for all time to come, fans have seen numerous versions of Batman. Even Robert Pattinson’s rendition of him left viewers pleasantly surprised. But what they don’t want to see, isPedro Pascalin the Batsuit.

The internet-proclaimed Daddy who seems to have become an absolute sensation across the world certainly has a flair for leading established canon universes likeThe Last of UsandThe Mandalorian. And the way he engages with the protagonist, fusing himself with the character whilst simultaneously retaining his signature Pascal charisma is one of the many reasons why fans treasure him.

Commissioner Gordon

When it comes to depicting someone like Batman, however, the audience doesn’t seem to be all too thrilled about the idea of theGoTstar taking over the iconic character. Part of the reason for the same could be the factor of age – the 48-year-old might be considered too old to be playing savior in the seedy streets of Gotham. But many people also think that Pascal would simply end up being typecast as the gritty, reticent loner that he usually tends to portray on-screen should this vision of Bruce Wayne ever materialize.

Fans Weigh in on the Potential Batman Casting

The consensus relating to whether fans would like to see Pascal depict the Caped Crusader points toward a big fat no. What they would approve of though, is to see him play another Gotham character – James Worthington, also known more popularly as Jim Gordon or Commissioner Gordon. As the title gives it away, Jim Gordon is the Commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department and one of the most trusted allies of Batman by dint of the same.

So, while Pascal, who starred inDC’s Wonder Woman 1984, might not be a great fit as Batman, he could certainly pass for Gotham’s unavowed guardian.

Many also pointed out how theKingsman 2star could make for an interesting supervillain or anti-hero like Deadshot or Deathstroke. But Pascal seems to be more cut to play the martyr with a strong moral code of conduct than the bad guy.
