In an interview with PEOPLE,Carrie Fisher‘sThe ‘Burbsco-star, Corey Feldman revealed that the former reached out to him when he delved deep into substance abuse.

Recalling his experience working with the actress, he mentioned,
“I was not at the best point in my life and I was about to go off the deep end to the dark side right before I became a heroin addict, and she saw it coming.”

He continued,
“She saw the darkness that was growing in me, but I didn’t understand it at that point. I didn’t know what was coming.”

At that time, the actor was just 18 years old which is why she knew that he was on the wrong path.
“Carrie looked into my eyes and saw the pain and recognized it,”Feldman explained.“She said to me, ‘Honey, I got tot tell ya, this is your bail out. This is your chance to become clean and I can help you. Or you can be in denial and you’re going to go down this long, hard road.’ “

Feldman mentioned that he was moved by her actions which is why he expressed what he felt at the time but told her that he was fine. However, what he shared next would surprise anyone, even him!
“At the time, I was like, ‘I have no idea what you’re talking about, but I really appreciate that you’re reaching out and you’re sweet, but I’m fine,’ ”he said.“And I believed I was fine. But she had some great psychic ability and she saw my future. She knew I was headed for danger.”
“[Carrie] told me, ‘You may believe you’re fine, but you’re not. You are changing seats on the Titanic,’ ”he recalled.“Sure enough, a year later, I tried heroin for the first time and became an addict.”
He struggled with drug addiction for years before eventually deciding to go sober. He recalled meeting her again 22 years ago from now when he told her that he eventually chose the right path after stumbling for a while.
As for their collaborative project starring Tom Hanks, it grossed $49 million worldwide becoming a cult classic in this era.
