Hollywood former couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have had their fair share of awkward moments. One of those awkward moments was caused by Emma Stone’s mother when the duo sat next to Brangelina at the 2011 Golden Globes Awards.
Recalling the hilarious incident, Emma Stone stated that since it was her first award ceremony, she brought her mother to the venue. When Stone’s mother had one too many drinks, she started asking the couple some awkward questions and played dumb as if she didn’t know anything about the couple’s history!

Brangelina began dating back in 2005 after Brad Pitt’s divorce from his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston. It was however confirmed by Angelina Jolie later in 2006 when she stated that she was pregnant with theFight Clubactor’s child.

In 2011, the duo had yet not married but Hollywood and everyone else knew about their relationship.Emma Stone, who brought her mother along to the Golden Globes that year had no idea how awkward things would get when her mother started asking questions when drunk. Recalling the funny incident onThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,the actress had quite the tale to tell.
“We sat next to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. We were like, ‘Of all people to be sitting next to at that kind of a show, whoa,’ And my mom never drinks and she had champagne that night, which was probably not the best idea, but she was having a wonderful time. She started asking Angelina Jolie like, ‘Do you have kids?’ I was like, ‘You have got to be out of your [mind].’”
The Amazing Spider-Manactress further continued,
“She completely knew! But she was like making small talk, ‘How old are they? What are their names?’ Knew everything, but they were so nice.”
Although the incident made it a bit awkward and funny, Emma Stone stated that it was a blast and that they had a really good time. With boldness in her, the actress recently talked about her upcoming project titledPoor Thingsand how they essentially created a woman free from guilt, prejudice, and shame, and how she loved to portray that character.

Poor Thingsfollows a woman brought back to life by a scientist and her running off with a lawyer on an adventure across the continents. With the premise of a woman free from every bond, guilt, and prejudice, Emma Stone was quite fascinated by the project and loved reuniting with director Yorgos Lanthimos for the movie.
“The idea that you could start anew as a woman, as this body that’s already formed, and see everything for the first time and try to understand the nature of sexuality, or power, or money or choice, the ability to make choices and live by your own rules and not society’s—I thought that was a really fascinating world to go into.”
The movie also stars Willem Dafoe and Mark Ruffalo along with several other actors alongside Emma Stone in the lead role.
Poor Thingsis set for a release date of 8th September 2023 in theaters across the U.S. for audiences to see.
