Actors Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Vin Diesel reportedly had some issues while filming theFast and the Furiousseries. Their feud began all the way back in 2016 after the Rock called his fellow male costars “candy a**es.” Over the years, the two have taken jabs at each other, however, many fans claim that they are good friends, and it is just the media that portrays them as archenemies.

Joe Rogan once discussed the feud on his show,Joe Rogan Experience, with podcaster Brendan Schaub, who revealed some interesting information about The Rock’s behavior on the set.

Just a few months before the release ofThe Fate of the Furious, actorDwayne Johnsontalked about the experience of working with his male co-stars in the movie. He wrote in his 2016 Instagram post,

“Some [male costars] conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t.The ones that don’t are too chicken st to do anything about it anyway. Candy aes.When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling — you’re right.”

Without naming any of his co-stars, he added in another post,

“Family is gonna have differences of opinion and fundamental core beliefs. To me, conflict can be a good thing, when it’s followed by great resolution. I was raised on healthy conflict and welcome it. And like any family, we get better from it.”

This post seemingly kicked off their feud. On the other hand,Vin Dieselposted a video of him spending time with his family at the time, keeping the feud on hold.

Is it tough to work with Dwayne Johnson?

Back in 2019, podcaster Brendan Schaub appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast,Joe Rogan Experience, and talked about Dwayne Johnson’s behavior on the set. Schaub said,

“I heard Rock was a big diva on set.”When asked about his sources, Schaub added,“People … that are on the set. You know, the Rock sometimes shows up late and there are trailers, he wants the biggest trailer.”

Joe Rogan made it clear that he supports Dwayne Johnson in this feud. The two podcasters further discussed the beef and shared their opinions on it.

Dwayne Johnson regretted calling out his co-stars

It may seem like the two celebrities hate each other, but that was not entirely the case. They met each other at the premieres of their movies and made it clear that they are on good terms.

Actor Tyrese Gibson once accused The Rock of causing the delay in the release schedule of the ninthFast and Furiousmovie,F9. However, Vin Diesel came to Johnson’s rescue as he defended him and said it was not one person’s fault.

In October 2021, Dwayne Johnson appeared for an interview with Vanity Fair and explained that he regrets posting those Instagram posts calling out his male co-stars. He said,

“I shouldn’t have shared that. Because at the end of the day, that goes against my DNA. I don’t share things like that. And I take care of that kind of bulls**t away from the public. They don’t need to know that. That’s why I say it wasn’t my best day.”

He implied that he doesn’t regret what he said about his co-stars but regrets sharing that information with the public.
