Henry Cavill has had a rough year so far, at least, for his professional career in the film industry. With the dismantling of the DCEU, as new management took over, the star was removed from his position as Superman in the franchise. Then, tragedy struck as it was reported that he will also be stepping down from the role of Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’sThe Witcherseries.
While the disbandment of the DC universe is an unavoidable outcome of the management shift, his exit from the superhit Netflix show was a voluntary action he made after thorough consideration. While there may be many reasons why he left the project he loved to work on the most, he may have hinted at it when talking about doing the right things in the past. This, in turn, may prove the theory of creative differences between him and the showrunners.

In a past interview on theHappy Sad Confusedpodcast, theMission: Impossiblestar was talking about all things related to his career and his personal life just days before the news of his departure from the show. The star also came to talk about what motivates him and drives him to connect with a project as he talked about his work ethic of always believing what you’re doing is right and leaving it if you realize it’s wrong. He said:
“If you believe what you’re doing is the right thing then you’ll be able to keep on doing it. It’s also important to know that if you realize you’re doing the wrong thing, that’s when you stop doing the wrong thing.“
While he may only have been talking about what his mindset is when it comes to his profession, many believed that this unshaken resolve was the reason why he left. Since the showrunner’s vision couldn’t match his sense of authenticity, he decided to leave the series behind.

While he may have left two of his most iconic roles in the past, the future looks brighter than ever for Cavill. In the coming months, fans can expect the final announcement of the star’s next project titledArgylle,which is being helmed by Matthew Vaughn.
Along with that, there are rumors that Cavill is also planning aWarhammer 40Klive-action adaptation with Amazon Studios along with the rumors of him being scouted for the role of the next James Bond in the007franchise.
