Fans of Rockstar Games’ award-winning action-adventure gameRed Dead Redemption 2were excited when news broke on the Brazilian ratings board that a port was coming to the Nintendo Switch later next year.
It would be no surprise, as earlier this year a port of the first game,Red Deadplus its supernatural DLCUndead Nightmare, made an appearance on the Nintendo Switch store.
But hopes were quickly dashed when apparently, it was removed earlier this week.
What Happened With the Brazilian Ratings Board?
As of September 28th, the posting on the Brazilian ratings board has taken down the Nintendo Switch port ofRed Dead Redemption 2,leaving fans of Nintendo Switch saddened they cannot play the riving Wild West adventures of Arthur Morgan and John Marston.
The reference to the Switch port was quickly removed, and instead, it has been linked to the listing of the recent port ofRed Dead Redemption+Undead Nightmare.

So what happened exactly to cause this issue? It was a simple mistake by Brazil’s rating board, nothing more, nothing less.
And it does make sense,Red Dead Redemption 2is the newest addition to theRed Dead Redemptionfranchise. As the third entry behindRed Dead RevolverandRed Dead Redemption,when you search upRed Dead Redemptionon any search engines, the sequel pops up.
Is Therea Chance For RDR2 to Appear on the Switch?
WillRed Dead Redemption 2make its way to the Nintendo Switch anytime soon? It very well could.
The Nintendo Switchis no stranger to third-part ports, as the system currently has theBio-Shockcollection, theBatman: Arkham Trilogy, andThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, as well as many more best-selling third-party games available for players across the world.

But, ifRed Dead Redemption 2were to appear on the Nintendo Switch,it probably will not be for a while, and until the Nintendo Switch 2releases.
Ben (Twitter user @videotechx), a videogame content creator focused solely on Rockstar Games, stated in aTweet, that the reason for this is that the current hardware for the Switch might be lacking and uncapable of delivering the stunning and vast game with acceptable visuals.
This news is surprising in the least, as a sequel to Nintendo’s third-best selling console, the Nintendo Switch,is rumored to appear next year.
Developers at Gamescon this year apparently received demos of the the high anticipated console, and even companies like Activision were brief on the new console last year.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to see big improvements in power, a higher OLED display as the standard and not an upgrade, and the ability to support 4K to keep up with the Xbox and the Playstation. This console will be fully capable to supportRed Dead Redemption 2,in its intended way.
