A promo reel for Netflix’s upcoming tentpole films of 2023 was recently released showing breathtaking visuals from Zack Snyder’s next masterpieceRebel Moonsparking a thrill in millions of Snyder fans worldwide. At the same time, Shay Hatten, who co-wrote the same with him and Kurt Johnstad came out to explain how this is possibly the director’s ultimate trump card.

Hatten’s remark that this is Snyder in his full glory realizing his ultimate visual dream has put fans, who watched his works over the years and the steady evolution of his vision, on the edge with excitement for the upcoming December release.

Rebel Moonas Zack Snyder’s Ultimate Rebellion
In an interview with Collider, Hatten explained that the movie is finally undergoing its post-production work after being on the shelf for a long time. Initially pitched as aStar Warsmovie to Lucasfilm with the director’s vision of reaching a wider and more mature audience for the franchise, it was then redeveloped as a TV series. Until finally it ended up being a two-part movie, which the director shot back to back.
With such a complex and winding history, fans of Snyder andStar Warsboth are over the top with excitement to witness what is there in store for them. Hatten’s consequent,“I think withRebel Moon, people will just see that it’s him really getting to unleash his visual imagination to the fullest extent. And I think people will really dig it,”remark has just added fuel to that fire.

Zack Snyder’s Star-studded Space Opera
Telling the story of a young woman called Kora, played by Sofia Boutella, who tries to assemble an army of fighters from different planets to fight against Balisarius, an intergalactic oppressive tyrant, played by Ed Skrein, the movie has managed to snatch quite a few big stars. From Cary Elwes, Djimon Hounsou, Charlie Hunnam, and even Anthony Hopkins as a voice actor, Snyder boasts of many big names for his dream project.
Although the details regarding their roles remain a mystery. Shay Hatten mentioned in the interview that he himself is yet to see even the full cut of the trailer asSnyderis still editing it. According to him, the “bits and pieces (…), scenes here and there…”he has seen were enough to make him overzealous.

Shay Hatten Mentions That He Is A Fan Of Snyder
Hatten, after making his screenwriting debut with theJohn Wickfranchise, has had experience working with Snyder onArmy of the Dead. He explains that he has been an avid fan and inspired by the director for a long time. In fact, “300was one of the first R-rated movies that I convinced my parents to take me to see in theaters,” he said to Collider.
Fans seem to reflect his sentiment,“I’m very, very excited about it,”after watching the promo reel showing huge explosions and combat glimpses from the movie. The movies will be available in both regular as well as R-rated versions, Andy Koyama, the sound mixer forRebel Moonconfirmed.
