The earlier adaptations ofPercy Jacksonfailed to impress the author of the novel series. So, Rick Riordan has said that he would be heavily involved in the Disney+ series. Walker Scobell is set to take on the lead role in the series. Leah Sava and Aryan Simhadri are cast as Percy’s best friends, Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood respectively.

Jay Duplass and Timothy Omundson have joined the Disney+ seriesPercy Jackson and the Olympians.Jay Duplass will star as Hades, and Omundson will be portraying Hephaestus. So far, the series has cast five of the 12 Olympians. The official Percy Jackson Twitter account shared the news.

The author of the original novel series has revealed the filming for the show is almost completed. The teaser forPercy Jackson and the Olympiansgives the first look at Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson.

It will consist of eight episodes and is set to release in 2024. Although the previous adaptations of the series aged the lead character to 16, the Disney+ series is planning to follow the story as it is in books.

Riordan has been providing updates about its developments on his website. The latest updates available on his website revealed that the filming would wrap up shortly. He also praised the cast including Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri.
