X-Men: Apocalypseand the Skywalker Saga star, Oscar Isaac, shouldn’t simply be known for his critically panned big-budget appearances. His career has been on a brilliant uptake as he keeps rapidly progressing through the years with a vengeance and hunger for roles each more diverse and ambitious than the last.

Now, with one of Isaac’s latest missions transporting him to a galaxy far, far away, Isaac becomes outrageously more experienced in his intergalactic travels as he adds one more billion-dollar industry to his roster.

Oscar Isaac Gets the Princess Leia Treatment (First Hand)

In the name of all that is good and holy in theStar Warsuniverse, one knows not to mess with Princess Leia Organa. Or god help those who may be unfortunate enough to cross her path. But when Poe Dameron signed up on the call sheet, Lucasfilm apparently forgot to send him the memo. And so, Oscar Isaac not only found himself in a pickle, having to sift through the vast scope and scale of theStar Warssequel trilogy films but also encounter the formidable Carrie Fisher.

One of his treasured experiences, as Isaac himself later recollects in a behind-the-scenes interview is his first-hand encounter with original trilogy actor and veteran member of theStar Warsfamily, Carrie Fisher. The scene which the pair filmed highlights a bit of Poe Dameron’s dominating character trait – something Fisher claims reminds her of the personality traits of her on-screen love interest Han Solo. The scene that is otherwise filled with dialogue finds an unusual ending, with Fisher’s Princess Leia slapping Poe Dameron across his face and coolly stating,“You’re demoted.”

Oscar Isaac, to no one’s surprise, remembered the scene in a rather different light than how a person would usually feel after getting slapped so many times in one day. In the interview, Isaac said,“I think we did 24 takes. That was very surreal to be slapped by Princess Leia repeatedly.”

With his powerhouse performance as Moon Knight in the eponymous Disney+ series, now this is one role that he could never grow tired of, given how many dissociative personalities and identities his character Steven Knight/Marc Spector really possesses. However, as the irony of fate would have it, it looks like Marvel is rather growing cautious of sticking to one major budget superhero at a time like in Phase I and II of the MCU’s arc. With the time constraints that bind the Marvel x Disney+ series, Oscar Isaac’s role may well be done and dusted with – for good.
