TheStar Warsmovie franchise began in 1977 and since then, it has achieved numerous significant milestones and accomplishments. The franchise was kicked off with the release ofStar Wars(later renamedEpisode IV – A New Hope), directed by George Lucas. The movie was a commercial success and popularised the franchise. By 1983, the original trilogy was wrapped up with the release ofEpisode VI – Return of the Jedi. Then the creators worked on a prequel trilogy that containedEpisode I – The Phantom Menace,Episode II – Attack of the Clones, andEpisode III – Revenge of the Sith.

Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sithwas the sixth film in the Star Wars film series, the final installment in theStar Warsprequel trilogy. The movie contained an action-packed finale sequence in which Obi-Wan Kenobi used a forbidden Sith technique to defeat Anakin Skywalker.
Obi-Wan Kenobi used a forbidden technique to defeat Anakin Skywalker
At the end ofStar Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan Kenobi battles against Anakin Skywalker. The fight ends after Obi-Wan Kenobi hit Anakin Skywalker in such a way that he loses his limbs. This technique is often used by the Sith and Jedi Knights are not allowed to perform this.
This scene shocked many fans as Obi-Wan Kenobi has devoted most of his life to fighting for the good side, then why did he use this forbidden technique to defeat Anakin Skywalker?

Why is the technique forbidden?
The Sith use this technique very often while the Jedi banned it. The technique is called Mou Kei, a specific attack in which one hits their opponent with a lightsaber in such a way that they lose various limbs. In the fight, Obi-Wan Kenobi uses the technique and Skywalker loses his limbs.
The Sith uses this technique to establish complete dominance over their opponent by removing their limbs. The Jedi fight for peace and justice, and using such a ruthless technique would go against their morals. The Sith want dominance over their enemy and on the other hand, that’s the last thing on the Jedi’s minds.

The movie was praised for its stunning visuals, however, the darker and more mature tone was not well-received by fans as the movie received mixed reviews from the audience. Overall, the movie was the culmination of the prequel trilogy, depicting Anakin Skywalker’s transformation into Darth Vader and setting the stage for the original trilogy.
