The widely anticipated Nintendo Switch Pro model has finally been revealed, featuring a new OLED screen, enhanced audio, and a number of new features.

Rumors surrounding the new Switch modelhave been floating around for months, but nowNintendohas broken the silence withtheir latest announcement. While the new system won’t blow either the Series X or PS5 out of the water, it does come with some new features that will likely make it a must for those looking to purchase a new Switch or those that primarily play in handheld mode.

The most noticeable features here are the addition of the 7-inch OLED screen, enhanced audio features, and a wide adjustable stand. Whether this new model will replace the current Switch remains to be seen, but for now, fans can expect this upgraded console to hit store shelves soon.

Unfortunately, those hoping for a new CPU will be left disappointed. Senior Editor for the Verge, Tom Warren,confirmed that the new OLED Switch“does not have a new CPU, or more RAM, from previous Nintendo Switch models.”

Is there going to be a Switch Pro?

While there were some expectations that the big announcement was going to be a Switch Pro, with upgrades to the internals of the machine, along with 4K output. Nintendo has surprisingly confirmed on social media, that they don’t plan on releasing any other Switch models in the near future.

This is probably a disappointing sign to see for many Nintendo fans, as while the OLED model seems fantastic. Many were hoping we would be able to play games at even higher resolutions with Nintendo’s announcement.
