We’re little more than a month away fromMortal Kombat 1being released. And as expected, there has been news, leaks and rumours aplenty. Amid all the information that’s currently out there for this title, one Redditor has taken to the platform to post up what’s rumoured to be the back of the game case in Brazil, randomly.
Looking at the back of this case, it shows a feature called ‘Invasions’ below the main image. And if you read the corresponding text which follows, it states that this feature is a seasonal single-player mode which will see players travel between the ‘Kingdoms ofMortal Kombat 1‘.

Mortal Kombat 1 – What’s new?
Ed Boon has said for a while now that MK1 won’t feature Battle Passes with NetherRealm intent on keeping away from the live-service model. But with the ‘Invasions’ mode being apparently leaked early there seems to be reference to a ‘seasonal’ operating mode for this feature.
We should point out that there although there is no official confirmation regarding Battle Passes or Season Passes, the fact that a seasonal feature is mentioned could lead to confirmation of Season Passes being introduced sooner rather than later. No smoke without fire and all that.

And following the news on ‘Invasions’, there was understandably much discussion across Social Media;
“This is the first bit of info we got on it but apparently this is what replaced the Krypt”.
“‘seasons’ so sort of like a battle pass system? or like the map will change looks as time progresses”.
“So, is invasions supposed to be like Konquest, but not really?”
And one fan even speculated that there may be more of a reveal at the upcoming Gamescon in Germany between 23 and 27 August. Which is certainly an interesting point and not without merit. Could the official announcement for ‘Invasions’ come in the next couple of weeks?
Other fans on social media have been comparing the ‘Invasions’ feature to that of Smash Bros World of Light, the single player campaign section of Super Smash Bros. Which certainly is an interesting take on this potential new mode but whether this is accurate or not, we will have to wait and see.
There’s no doubt that there is massive hype for this game and with every little reveal, we are left counting down the days until release. One thing is for sure,Mortal Kombat 1looks well worth the wait!
