Despite earning so little, the film seemed to grab the minds of Jordan Peele who was on his way to becoming a great director back in 2013. As per theNopedirector,Under the Skinwas a movie that had these aesthetics that just resonated deeply with the tone of the movie. Praising the movie, Jordan Peele felt the need to ask Jonathan Glazer how did he manage to create such perfect effects and a perfect score forUnder the Skin.
“Under the Skin, for me, is a special film. It has one of those aesthetics that, as a filmmaker, you watch, and you’re like. ‘how did Jonathan Glazer even do that?’ Everything looks so specific; the photography is beautiful, and that movie has a perfect score.”

Since it was a game of ranking the best movies,Jordan PeeleselectedUnder the Skinfor a second time and stated that several visuals of the movie were so intense that he could watch it hundreds of times and not get bored.
“There are some things in that movie that I just feel like are so visually intense and captivating that it’s just what I feel I could watch a hundred times and never really get to the bottom of it. And I love that”

With Scarlett Johansson in the lead role, the movie earned a rating of 6.3/10 on IMDB but a strong rating of 84% on Rotten Tomatoes.

In an exclusive interview with ET, Scarlett Johansson revealed that she had initially auditioned for the lead role in Alfonso Cuaron’s 2013 movieGravity.Stating that it didn’t go as planned, Johansson admitted that it was kind of the last straw that broke the camel’s hump.
“The first was Iron Man 2 and then the other one was Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity. I had wanted that role so much. It was sort of the straw that broke the camel’s back. I felt really frustrated and hopeless. Like, ‘Am I doing the right job?'”
She further continued,
“I did a screen test for the movie Gravity, that Sandra Bullock is fantastic in, but I had to be in like the full whole space suit thing, and sort of pretend I was kind of like floating in space. Even though I was just sitting in a chair with a helmet on.”
