Captain Marvel Butchered Hugh Jackman’s Iconic Catchphrase
Brie Larson’sCaptain Marvelhas created a recent buzz on social media following the release ofThe Marvels. With fans now reminiscing about the 2019 movie, they stumbled upon the climax scene from the film where Carol Danvers confronts Supreme Intelligence, and destroys it for good.
In that particular scene, Brie Larson’s character is seen giving a special shoutout to everyone’s favorite X-Men, Wolverine. While blowing Supreme Intelligence to smithereens, Carol Danvers takes her time to quoteHugh Jackman‘s catchphrase fromX-Men Origins: Wolverine, viaScreenRant.

“I’m the best there is at what I do, ugly. But it isn’t always super nice.” Carol utters.
Giving a ridiculous twist to the iconic catchphrase by paraphrasing the words, Brie Larson’s character appears to have ruined the monologue. And fans aren’t quite happy about it. However, there’s only so much one can do, especially when Marvel allowed Captain Marvel to butcher the iconic line in the most nonsensical way.

Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Nailed The Fan-Favorite Monologue
Finding Captain Marvel ruining Wolverine’s catchphrase, fans were taken back to the time when Hugh Jackman delivered it with passion. Appearing inX-Men Origins: Wolverine, the actor stole hearts with his performance, but more than anything, he stunned fans with his renowned catchphrase.
“I’m the best there is at what I do. But what I do isn’t very nice.”

Evoking intimidation with his lines in the comics as well as the movie, Wolverine uttered them by recalling the decades he spent killing people. Mastering his murderous skills, whether by choice or by force, Hugh Jackman’s mutant character found himself ashamed from time to time. That’s when he used the catchphrase.
Previously nailing the line in the comics and the movie, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine doesn’t seem to have received much of a tribute, withBrie Larson‘s Captain Marvel ruining the phrase. While fans are upset with the unnecessary butchering of lines, Marvel appears unfazed.
