The 60-year-old actor reportedly insisted on performing a risky motorcycle stunt for the film’s opening scene. He was prepared to risk his life to prevent production delays brought on by accidents or unforeseen events.
However, Cruise had a much more sensible explanation for scheduling the motorcycle stunt on the first day of filming. The money would have been lost if his motorcycle stunt caused him to suffer a serious injury while filming the film. The actor-producer spoke to Entertainment Tonight about how the stunt was captured right at the beginning of the production.
“Well we know either we will continue with the film or we’re not. Let’s know day one! Let us know day one what is going to happen: Do we all continue or is it a major rewrite?”
