Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, has been surrounded by controversies after a video showing his inappropriate behavior toward a young boy went viral on social media. The video is reportedly from an interaction organized at a temple in February, and around 100 students attended the event. After this, a new video has resurfaced that shows the spiritual leader’s inappropriate behavior toward the singer-actress Lady Gaga.
The resurfaced video shows him touching the singer’s exposed leg during a conference, forcing Lady Gaga to stop him. The Tibetan spiritual leader’s behavior in the video has once again led to negative comments about him on social media.

The Dalai Lama’s Controversial Video With a Young Boy
TheDalai Lamahas been the center of controversy, followed by the release of a video that shows him kissing a young boy on the lips. According to The Guardian, the boy went to the platform, after which the spiritual leader is heard saying,“first here,”pointing to his cheeks. The child kisses him on the cheeks and hugs him.
However, the Dalai Lama then asks the boy to kiss him on his lips by pointing to his lips and saying,“I think here also.”After the boy does as told, the spiritual leader sticks out his tongue and asks the young boy to“suck [his] tongue”as he lays his forehead against the boy’s forehead. The younger boy, however, pulled away from him before the spiritual leader pulled him in for another hug.
The video caused a massive backlash on social media as people called his behavior“inappropriate,” “scandalous,”and“disgusting.”Followed by the backlash, the office of the Dalai Lama issued a statement describing his behavior with the boy as“innocent and playful.”
The statement also stated that he“regrets the incident,”along with his apology to the boy, his family, and everyone who was hurt by his words in the video. However, things do not seem to cool down as an old video resurfaced recently that shows his improper behavior towards the Grammy-winning singerLady Gaga.

The Dalai Lama’s Inappropriate Behavior Toward Lady Gaga
A resurfaced video from a conference in Indiana shows the Dalai Lama inappropriately touching the singer’s leg. He is seen looking down before stretching his hand out to seemingly grope the singer’s leg. As he tries to do the same with her other leg, theBloody Marysinger forcefully stops him by grabbing his hand.
This has added more fuel to the ongoing backlash against the spiritual leader. People have been outraged due to his behavior with the young boy, and the resurfaced video showing his unsuitable behavior has only added to it.
Some shared their concern that there could be a possibility that more such videos of him would start surfacing. However, some have described his behavior as“cultural norms in many parts of the world.”People have claimed that “physical touch and teasing”are a way of showing affection and are considered normal.

The office of the Dalai Lama has issued an apology for the controversial behavior of the leader toward the young boy but has not made any remark about the resurfaced video with Lady Gaga.
