Ryan Coogler changed the world when he created the 2018 filmBlack Panther.Starring Chadwick Boseman in the lead role, the script dealt with issues of fatherhood and his son T’Challa facing the consequences.

It was going to be a unique story about the relation between Chadwick Boseman’s King T’Challa and his son Toussaint after the events of the Blip. Being a father-son story told from the perspective of a father, Ryan Coogler had a great story at hand but wasn’t able to adapt it onto the big screens.
Black Panther 2 Could Have Changed The MCU Again
It is a common trait that the MCU always deals with father-son dynamics and problems. Starting with Thor and Odin inThorand then moving to Peter Quill and his father Ego inGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,the sons are always the main characters in the story.

This trait also resonated in the 2018 filmwhen T’Challa becomes king after the passing of his old man King T’Chaka. Well, if Boseman had been alive,Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverwould have been altogether different than every MCU movie. DirectorRyan Cooglerrevealed toThe New York Timesthat the original script for the 2022 movie would have showcased Chadwick Boseman’s character reconnecting with his son Toussaint after the blip.
“In the script, T’Challa was a dad who’d had this forced five-year absence from his son’s life. You realize that he doesn’t know his dad was the Black Panther. He’s never met him … Then, we cut to reality and it’s the night that everybody comes back from the Blip. You see T’Challa meet the kid for the first time.”

He further continued,
“It was absolutely nothing like what we made. It was going to be a father-son story from the perspective of a father, because the first movie had been a father-son story from the perspective of the sons,”

This would have been the film if not for the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman. Before his battle with cancer was over, the actor was once asked what his philosophy was while portraying the role of the Black Panther. Well, Boseman had quite an answer to that question.

Back in 2018, the actor appeared in an interview withThe Guardianto talk about his then-recent filmBlack Panther.Talking about any pressure that he faced during that time, Boseman had a pretty sweet philosophy on portraying the role of King T’Challa.
“You’re not thinking: ‘Don’t screw up’, exactly. It’s more positive than that. It’s more like: ‘Seize it. Enjoy it.”
In the end,Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverbecame what it is in the MCU, a humble tribute to the late actor Chadwick Boseman. With high ratings,Black Panther: Wakanda Foreveris available to stream on Disney+ in the U.S.
