Traditional celebration of All Souls’ Day aka Día de Muertos, in Mexico used to be very different from Halloween. According to the traditions, the holiday used to be a quiet family gathering at the graves of loved ones, bringing them music, drink, and conversation.

However,Sam Mendes‘ 2015 James Bond movieSpectrefeaturing Daniel Craig, simply changed the way people saw the Mexican holiday and the way they celebrated it. In the movie, the scriptwriter imagined a parade of people in skeleton outfits and floats. Thus, in the opening scene, Craig’s character is seen running through the parade chasing a villain.

As a result, Mexicans held its first Day of the Dead parade in 2016, following the release ofSpectre.
