What Is the Darkness, and Why Is It Being Remastered?

Back in 2007, whenThe Darknesswas released, it took players by storm. Many who bought the game enjoyed it as it had players explore parts of New York City as they took control of a dark power that granted them numerous abilities and weapons. Gamers would use weaponry alongside these newfound skills and assets to complete the game’s fascinating story.

The game starts with the player controlling the main character, Jackie Estacado, as he battles his uncle, who targeted Jackie for assassination. Jackie’s uncle was paranoid that Jackie was going to take his place as the Don of his Mafia and so he went after his nephew. During the assassination, Jackie unlocked a innate power ofThe Darknesswhich saved him from the murderous attempt on his life. Unfortunately this caused his uncle to react by kidnapping his girlfriend.

The Darkness provides exciting set pieces for an excellent story and will bring new and old gamers back for another retelling of its epic narrative.

Due to these circumstances, the game follows Jackie as he fights through the streets of New York City, learning how to control these new abilities while also trying to save his girlfriend before her demise. This then leads into the second half of the game, which takes place in the Otherworld which is set in a World War I era.

With all of these unique set pieces, a fantastic story, brilliant combat, and all sorts of side quests can be found throughout the game. How could someone not get interested inThe Darkness? Due to this, many gamers enjoyed the first title and its subsequent sequel, and they have been hammering to play the game again. However, unfortunatelyThe Darknessis only available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, which leaves many waiting eagerly for the remaster to arrive.

At this current time, the only information we have that tells us there is even a remaster coming is the fact that Stephen Kick posted on Twitter in response to someone else’s Tweet saying, “ITS ON THE LIST” regarding a potential remaster forThe Darkness. This created a lot of hype from fans, but it doesn’t tell us when it will be worked. Saying it is on a list implies they aren’t actively working on the remaster at this time, but when it is remastered many gamers will be pleased.
