Sony’s Spider-Man Universe has been suffering quite brutally under the mounting pressures dealt by the box-office blow after the premieres ofVenom 2andMorbius.The parallel universe that Sony has created now takes a step further to introduce the clairvoyant Madame Web into the narrative as its fourth and latest entry in the recently established SSMU. Set to be an epic, female-driven narrative, the Spider-Man spin-off film boasts of an already qualified roster of actors taking on the mantle into the next generation while bringing to light one of the lesser represented characters from the Spider-Man comics onto the big screen.

Madame WebGets an Interesting Update From Emma Roberts
The narrative of Dakota Johnson-ledMadame Webis set to explore the origin of the clairvoyant superhero. Joined byEuphoriastar, Sydney Sweeney, andHolidateactress, Emma Roberts, the film is set to dive into the inner sanctum of the Spider-world and psychic abilities. But besides the obvious origin tale, very little is known about the tangential arc of the upcoming film. Emma Roberts serves to rectify that in her recent appearance on theShut Up Evanpodcast.
“It’s really different from any of the other Marvel movies, it’s super grounded. I love that it has so many great actresses, it’s really female-driven, and I just think it’s not going to be what people expect.

So I’m really, really excited for everybody to see it, and by the way, I’m excited to see it, because I only worked like a week on it, so there’s so much that I haven’t seen. I did get to see the storyboards and read the script, and it’s fantastic.”

A self-certified fan of the Marvel comics and its subsequent cinematic universe, Emma Roberts’ claims about the grounded storyline ofMadame Webserves to raise the fandom’s hopes for several reasons other than its empowering and unique plot. The promise of a grounded saga exploring the origin of one of the most powerful clairvoyants of the Marvel canon, the inclusion of a pregnant Mary Parker aka Peter Parker’s mother (played by Emma Roberts), and an intrinsic look into the powers that dominate the world of Marvel’s wall-crawling, web-slinging superhero(es) in its multiversal expanse has the audience already jittering with anticipation.
SSMU Overflows With Array of Promising Projects
The story has been getting progressively more interesting by the minute for Sony’s Spider-Man narrative. The surface of greatness that was merely scratched upon by Tom Hardy’sVenomin 2018 seems to be finally making a comeback with the fast-approaching lineup of stories from the Spider-Man comics canon in the SSMU. While Tom Holland remains on a loan to Marvel, Sony has been consistently and constructively busy at work developing its very own array of a diverse and colorful universe.
