Ever since the end ofAvengers: Endgame, fans of the MCU have sorely felt the absence of all the beloved characters we lost back then, which also includes Chris Evans, who immortalized himself as Captain America. Thus, not being able not take that grief, fans wish that they might see him make a return to the franchise in the future.
But for just as long as that hope has existed, the star has denied his return to the MCU. But with recent rumors emerging, there have been talks of bringing back some or all of the original six Avengers, which Evans also said he had no news about. Thus, fans are now convinced that he is trying to pull an Andrew Garfield on the fans.
Chris Evans May Be Trying To Hide His Return To The MCU In The Future
Fans may remember the time whenSpider-Man: No Way Homewas about to be released, and leaks and rumors started to fly around that the previous generations of Spider-Man would make their appearance in the film. WhenAndrew Garfieldwas asked whether this was true, he found a clever way of denying the fact to keep things under wraps.
In a recent interview, when the question of the original Avengers returning to the MCU was brought up forChris Evans, he denied any knowledge of that matter as well.
In his most recent appearance onThe Wrap, theFantastic Fourstar was at the interview in partnership withpet foodcompanyJinx, where the host asked whether the current rumors about one or all of the original Avengers may be returning to the MCU were true or false. Evans had a hearty laugh at first, then clarified that if this was indeed true, then he had no idea about it.
He said that since Captain America is a role that’s close to his heart, he would never turn it down without a good reason. He said:
“You know, I always see those reports too, and it’s news to me. I think every couple months, someone says that they’re getting Downey, and Hemsworth, and Scarlet [Johansson], and everyone’s coming back! No one’s spoken to me about it, and look, I would never say never, but I really — I’m very protective. It’s a very precious role to me, so it would have to be just right.”
That last part of his comment has fans wondering if the star was actually telling the truth, or if he was concealing one.

With the aforementioned rumors coming from various sources recently, fans are almost convinced that the star knows what’s going to happen, but is trying to hide it in plain sight. Thus, many have taken to X to talk about it.
