In an interview with Cosmopolitan, the actress was asked whether she liked to see herself in newspaper tabloids. Talking about the body shaming part of Hollywood, the actress referred to the act as“mortifying”.
“Well, it’s usually like, “She’s got a tummy bulge! She’s got sagging saddlebags!” And [the body part] is circled in red and there’s an arrow pointing to it that reads “Saddlebags!” It’s mortifying. How can you ignore that?”

Although she felt quite uncomfortable with how Hollywood had a way of keeping things in check, Scarlett Johansson revealed that she never felt the peer pressure of losing weight like her fellow co-stars did.

The interviewer continued the question by asking the actress whether she ever felt pressurized to change or improve her body by looking at other actresses. Having the femme fatale personality, Johansson’s reply was quite self-explanatory that she simply doesn’t care about other people.

“No. The only pressure I ever feel is if I look in the mirror and don’t like what I see. I’m like “You could start jogging more.” I’m never going to look at a picture of Uma Thurman and think I can have her body. It’s not what I’m supposed to look like. I once heard that women dress for women—not for men—and I think that has some truth to it. Men, what do they know? They don’t know if you gain or lose five pounds.”
The actress was last seen in the 2023 movie titledAsteroid Cityafter taking a break from Hollywood. Scarlett Johansson is currently occupied with 6 other upcoming projects in different stages of development.
