Simon Pegghas been working alongsideTom Cruisesince 2006’sMission: Impossible III, portraying the role of Benji Dunn, a technician turned field agent of the IMF. The English actor has seen the superstar in action up and close and believes there’s a lot more he’s capable of offering to the fans than just his incredible stunts.
When asked about potentially linking up withCollateralstar after the end ofMission: Impossible, Pegg said he isn’t sure because he feels Cruise will try different things and show his fans his true acting potential – a glimpse of which has been witnessed in his performances inBorn on the Fourth of July, Jerry MaguireandMagnolia.

“I love working with Tom, and he’s really good fun to work with but I get the feeling that when Tom goes off and does other things, it’ll be a completely different thing,”Pegg toldThe Independent.“He has a whole other age to come in his career. He’s a very good actor, a very, very good actor — as we’ve seen in Magnolia and Jerry Maguire… I think when he finally stops jumping off sh-t, he’ll have a third act. And yes, it’d be nice to be a part of that.”
Cruise has pushed the limits of his body ever since 1986’sTop Gunand has accumulated several hits and millions of fans as a result. Should he decide to push the limits of his acting, there’s no doubt he would be able to bag his first Oscar, sooner than later.

Many thought Ethan Hunt would retire afterDead Reckoning Part Two, which is scheduled to be released in 2025. But earlier this year, Cruise laid out plans to emulate Harrison Ford, who has ledIndiana Jonesfranchise for more than 40 years.

“Harrison Ford is a legend, I hope to be still going, I’ve got 20 years to catch up with him,”Cruise told theSydney Morning Herald. “I hope to keep makingMission: Impossiblefilms until I’m his age.”
Interestingly, Ford, who is considered one of Hollywood’s most popular actors of all time, has also not won an Oscar so far.
