Taz Skylar’s Training forOne PieceLive-Action

Skylar had to practice stunt fighting without using his hands to portray Sanji as he appears in the original manga. Sanji, a chef, avoids using his hands in combat for fear of damaging them. In the show, Skylar performed his kicking stunts. Skylar started with two hours of training per day, which he immediately discovered wasn’t going to be enough. As a result, his training schedule was increased to four hours, then to five hours per day. He ended up flying his trainer to South Africa to exercise for longer periods each day.

To effectively represent Sanji on-screen, Skylar put in 10 hours of battle training per day. This was certainly one of the toughest moments for Skylar. But his hard work and practice helped him bring the role to fruition and made the fans fall in love with the character.
