After being together for a year,Nicole KidmanandTom Cruisetied the knot in 1990 at a private ceremony. However, after eleven years of being married, they filed for divorce in 2001, which was finalized seven months after that. The next thing you know, Cruise andPenélope Cruzimmediately got together, spurring speculations about infidelity on Cruise’s part.
Cruz and Cruise met for the first time on the set of the 2001 movie,Vanilla Sky,which made $203 million at the box office. Many believed that this is where the romance between the two began. But as it turns out, these rumors had no truth to them. In an interview with Telegraph back in 2008, Cruz stated,
“I’ve never fallen in love with someone I’m working with. It’s always been afterwards.”
Cruz made it clear to anyone who had doubts about Cruise being unfaithful to Kidman. After dating for about three years (2001-2004), Cruz and Cruise put their relationship to an end. Reports suggested that the split happened as Cruz couldn’t fit in with the actor’s family, as well as that he was still talking to Kidman. Of course, no one can say anything with certainty.

Tom Cruise Was Ready to Propose Penélope Cruz
After the pair called it quits, it was reported that the duo had talked about spending their future together and Cruise had his proposal to Cruz all planned out. However, according to an insider, the Church of Scientology came in between. According to Radar Online, the insider stated,
“Tom had absolutely planned on proposing to Penélope, and they had openly discussed marriage during the three years they were dating. Tom was head over heels in love with Penélope and could see them spending the rest of their lives together and she felt the same way. However, Penélope pulled the plug on the relationship because she felt that the Church of Scientology was the third wheel in their relationship.”
Of course, neither Cruz nor Cruise ever spoke about this. To. Cruise then went on to dateKatie Holmeswho he later married. After tying the knot in 2006, they ended their marriage in 2012. It looks like the cupid hasn’t been able to find the one for Cruise, yet!
