As per reports, the show that brought laughter to millions of viewers has proved to be a painful sight for Jerry Seinfeld. The actor revealed in an interview with Popeater (via Vulture),

“I think because as much as I enjoy the humor of it, it kind of reminds me of how hard it was to do. I can’t seem to get that part out of my head and just enjoy the show but I’m working on it because I would like to watch them more. When I watch them, I see my face and I see how I was struggling.”

The actor shared that watching the episodes brought up some painful memories, reminding him of the hard work that went into creating the masterpiece.

Why Jerry Seinfeld did not do any other sitcom

The show Seinfeld offered the comedian an unimaginable amount of fame and success. The actor did not see himself as a big star even after the historic run of the television show. The actor shared that it is one of the reasons for not pursuing more shows or films. He believed that he could not top a show like Seinfeld, which further demotivated him for doing more sitcoms.

The comedian told Pioneers of Television,

“We killed ourselves to make those shows as good as they were. We weren’t just hanging around. People always say, ‘Why don’t you do another sitcom?’ I think, ‘If I could do another sitcom that good, yeah, sure I’d do it.’ You can’t. I can’t.”

The Seinfeld star was concerned that the show’s rating may decline if the quality was affected. Hence he thought it was the right choice to end the show in the ninth season.
