The Hunger Gamesfranchise is one that fans cherish not only through Suzanne Collins’ books but also through Jennifer Lawrence’s outstanding performance as Katniss Everdeen in the movies. The movies remain rather loyal to the books in a way that the franchise is easily one of the most liked when it comes to Young Adult fantasy and dystopian genres.

Focusing on the story and not the medium, Katniss’s story was one following some of the greatest challenges a teenager like her could not even imagine facing. However, overcoming that and rising to the top is what made her such a symbol not only for District 12 but also for those who could not stand up for themselves. Since the series has long since concluded, Lawrence expressed her willingness to return as the character but only under one condition; the thematic concerns.

In an interview withYahoo Entertainment, Francis Lawrence and Nina Jacobson talked about how and what would inspire them to bringJennifer Lawrenceback into the world ofThe Hunger Gameseven though her franchise was long since concluded. The actress previously responded to the question about whether or not she would be open to returning as Katniss Everdeen. Her reply had been positive regarding the same, stating that she was more than open to the idea. However, the perspective comes with further layers.

“I think that if for whatever reason she had some thematic idea that made sense to tell another Katniss story, I’d be in, and then I’m sure Jen would be in. But it really all comes from theme and idea, and Suzanne.”
