Zack Snyder knows how reshoots feel, for he has had personal experience dealing with them. As a filmmaker, he is also more than aware of last-minute storyline changes and the behind-the-screen troubles with Warner Bros, having carried the DCEU for years.

Now as the last of the DCEU movie,Aquaman 2is set to release soon in theatres, the man behind DC’s cinematic universe was recently asked how he feels about the movie being riddled with reshoots and 2 different Batman casting. While sympathizing with the movie, he calmly said he knows how it feels.

Zack Snyderwas the one who castJason Momoaas Aquaman and was even involved to some degree in giving shape to the character that we know today. His imprint on the character and storyline is visible throughout the first movie, and fans naturally credit him for making the character ‘likable’ (viaMovieWeb).

However, its sequel and the last movie in the DCEU,Aquaman 2, has been stuck with reshoots, negative press, and even fan boycott campaigns. As somebody who is more than aware of what goes on sets of WB, Zack Snyder was recently asked about how he feels about the movie’s trouble during an interview withMensHealth. And he replied,
“Am I relieved? Well, I get anxiety just because I know what it feels like. It’s too personal for me to feel anything like that. The movie’s probably fine. I mean, I don’t know. Who knows?”

While he did not elaborate on this, it is certainly true he might feel anxious because he underwent a similar experience while shootingJustice League. As forAquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the sequel to the billion-dollar-grossing first movie, the director James Wan is happy to have the movie ready for release, finally.

James Wan Excited ForAquaman and the Lost Kingdom
Despite describing the experience of shooting the sequel to his blockbusterAquamanmovie as ‘living in a house that’s being renovated’, directorJames Wanis happy to finally have the movie released after having gone through so much trouble. While speaking to the Empire Magazine (viaThe Direct), he stated,
“I’ve been on this movie for four years now, and I’m so happy for it to come out. In many ways I think it’s even more fun than the first one. But it’s been a long, exhausting process. It is definitely the noisiestmovie I’ve ever worked on.”
Despite acknowledging that the shoot was full of challenges, Wan maintained that it was necessary to‘filter out the negativity and focus on the film’, since‘in 20 years, no one will remember the noise, Only the movie’. He further added that he was happy to have people react positively to the movie.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdomwill hit the theatres on July 30, 2025.
