Luma Island has several gorgeous biomes for you to explore, each teeming with flora and fauna of different varieties. With new flora and fauna come new sets of challenges. The Forest in Luma Island is the second area you explore, and it immediately breaks your visions of utopia by being one of the more hostile regions in the game. This unbridled hostility, however, is balanced by the plethora of resources the Forest harbors that you may use to upgrade your gear. With so many incentives to visit this lived-in region, the game surprisingly does very little to tell you how to reach it. Don’t worry, as we’ve got you covered with this guide.

How To Unlock the Forest
You begin your journey on Luma Island on the Farm. This is where you learn the game’s basics and familiarize yourself with the game’s systems. Once you’re done, however, the Forest comes next. Exit the Farm and head towards the Town. At the Town gate near Sylvia’s Shop, you will see a sign board with a tree marked on it, signaling you to head right. This sign leads you to the Forest, so take the right.
Fix the Broken Bridge
As you follow the path towards its end, you will stumble across the broken bridge. The bridge is marked as “Broken Bridge to the Forest” in-game. A NPC stands at the edge of the bridge. Talk to the NPC, and he will ask you to fix the bridge while also telling you about the materials you need to do so. To fix the bridge, you will require:
Once you have the necessary ingredients, head back to the bridge and press the left mouse button to feed the ingredients and construct the bridge. You can then cross the bridge and will see a loading screen. A message reading “Welcome to the Forest” will pop up on the top of your screen, and you will have arrived in the lush green region.
