HBO is already teasing fans with a dark ending forHouse of the Dragon. An image ofRhaenyra Targaryenwith a dragon behind her is a foreshadowing of the tragic events that will happen in the series.

House of the Dragonis set 300 years before the events inGame of Thrones. It follows the Targaryen civil war and Rhaenyra’s fight for the Iron Throne against Alicent Hightower, her stepmother, and Aegon II Targaryen, her half-brother.
House Of The Dragon: Not A Fairytale Story
Despite the unexpected ending inGame of Thrones, it still presented a feat for the Stark family as they survived and ruled their respective kingdoms. In this prequel, a happy ending is not applicable for any of the characters.
Aegon the Younger ascended to the Iron Throne and became known as King Aegon the Broken because of the innumerable tragedies he has suffered ever since his early days. Aegon III, who is expected to make an impression by the end ofHouse of the Dragon, will meet the same fate when he discovers the grim end of Rhaenyra Targaryen.

Rhaenyra Targaryen’s Fate Is Sealed With A Poster From HBO
In the teaser image released by HBO, Rhaenyra is seen standing on the steps of the Iron Throne withSyraxlooming behind her. This dragon somehow also resembles Aegon II’s creature, Sunfyre. With the giant beast’s angry look and fire burning in its mouth, it teases Rhaenyra’s tragic end.
Game of Throneshas popularized killing offmajor characters, andHouse of the Dragonis not different from it. With Rhaenyra’s demise at the end, it will also mean her allies, as well as foes, will horribly meet their ends.

With this teaser foreshadowing the major events inHouse of the Dragon, it will bring a tremendous spectacle on how Rhaenyra fought during the Targaryen civil war and how ‘fire and blood’ were synonymous with death.
