Though the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Universe have been competing with each other for many years now, this has not stopped many actors from being part of both of these franchises. Christian Bale is an excellent example of this, starring in the iconicDark Knighttrilogy as Batman himself, and then working in Marvel’sThor: Love and Thunder. Bale is not the only actor as Ryan Reynolds, Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, and even Ben Affleck have been part of both of these cinematic universes.

Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne Johnson is one of the most well-recognized faces in Hollywood. Despite this, his 2022 film,Black Adam, was immensely hyped by those involved and failed drastically. Fans were highly disappointed with the movie and this mishap will perhaps be remembered for many years to come. After this, many fans started to speculate if the ex-wrestler would jump ship and take part in a Marvel movie and Johnson was quick to address this.

Dwayne Johnson Talks About If He Will Join The MCU

While promoting his latest movie,Dwayne Johnsonwas asked if he would ever consider joining the MCU, based on rumors online on the subject. The actor was quick to deny this, stating that though he has immense respect for what Marvel has done, paving the way for the superhero genre, he would much rather focus on his work with DC and help it establish itself better.

“Do I think we’re going to take any kind of bite out of Marvel? That answer is unequivocally no,”He said.“What they’ve done is incredible, what Kevin Feige has done is incredible. I love those guys, they’re all my friends, and they are largely responsible for the economic drive of our business for almost two decades. So we don’t want to be Marvel, we want to be DC and how we do things. That’s what I want. I don’t want to take a bite of that apple, I want to grab a new apple and I want to create from there.”
