In today’s day and age, the most hypocritic specie is the celebrity. Their PR teams work around the clock to put up a facade of responsibility and virtue to hide their decadence and hedonism. Stars have off late acquired a new passion. Lecturing. So much so, that it is difficult to scroll their social media feeds without stumbling upon unsolicited public service announcements. Perhaps unbeknownst to them, their expensive and carefully crafted facade has withered away to reveal their true self.
Take climate change for example. We often hear celebrities pontificating about the impending global catastrophe and what people must do individually and collectively to tackle it. However, their own behavior flies in the face of their message. Jet-setting celebrities are responsible for an insane amount of carbon emissions.

Celebrities and their Jet Fuel-Guzzling Private Planes
Numerous reports and articles about the Jet-setting lifestyle of celebrities have been written. Their rampant use of private planes is well known. Private jets cause much more environmental damage than regular airline jets do. Yet, we heard these celebrities lecturing about climate change and the need to reduce our respective carbon footprints. Sure, it’s easy to go green when you have a lot of green in your bank. Financial abundance provides the luxury of choice which unfortunately most common people don’t have.
Despite their fat wallets, thesecelebritiesoften chose options that are more taxing on the environment. Be it private planes or ridiculous levels of consumption. We often hear news of stars hopping on their private jets to travel small distances. This practice is very carbon intensive.

This is Nothing but Plane Hypocrisy by the Stars
Nuisance by their lecturing is bearable, after all, we tolerate their music and films. However, what these stars must understand and appreciate is that their carbon-intensive lifestyle puts the entire humanity at risk. Despite hardships, numerous civic-minded people across the globe try to reduce, reuse, and recycle. A lot of this is counterbalanced by the wasteful and harmful lifestyle of these celebrities. Only if they were to follow their own message and live responsibly, people would take their message more seriously. Climate change is a danger to all humanity and therefore, all humanity must join hands o confront it, including celebrities.
