Gege Akutami has the world of Jujutsu Kaisen spiraling non-stop thanks to their near-perfect storytelling skills. From the anime to the manga, there are events taking place parallelly that may be some of the most heartwrenching within the fanbase of the series. The series has never been one that offers too much of a light-hearted tone, standing easily as one of the top three dark shonen mangas.

The latest chapters of the manga in particular haven’t been the kindest to the readers. At the same time, the anime is also portraying what is only the beginning of a sad and sorrowful arc. However, the conclusion of one of the most anticipated battles in the manga had not been something fans could come to terms with.

Jujutsu Kaisen Gives no Break to its Fans
Jujutsu Kaisen’s chapter 236 shook the world, literally. Not only did fans buy a star to honor Gojo Satoru’s death, but they also held a memorial for the character. However, that was not enough for Gege Akutami. A good writer is not someone who kills off their characters, a good writer is one who can make their deaths feel like something. The mangaka achieved exactly that and fans have termed it the ‘Gojo Satoru Effect.’
While fans were barely coming to terms with his death, the latest chapter of the manga, chapter 237 kicked off the fight between Kashimo and Sukuna, or well, gave a glimpse of it. The chapter focuses on the fight against Uraume and Hakari as the King of Curses finally takes on his true form. Although it may be a mockery of Gojo’s power that Sukuna need not even use his full strength, it could also have been important for him to die at the hands of Megumi, so as to finally make him give up control. Chapter 238 was set to kick off the battle between Hajime Kashimo and Sukuna, sort of.

Kashimo Meets his End Even Before he Could do Anything
Jujutsu Kaisen’s upcoming chapter 238 had the fans waiting to see how the God of Lightning would face off against the King of Curses. However, by the looks of it, they would barely be able to see that. Much like Gojo, it took Sukuna only one strike to finish Kashimo off as the real battle was about to begin. Itadori Yuji will be entering the battlefield soon and the story will also be nearing its end, although many chapters are still to remain.
What has upset fans is how someone so enigmatic was barely able to last two chapters in a battle against the villain. Gojo’s fight was one split amongst various chapters, showing the ups and downs of both characters. However, in the case of Kashimo, not only was he shown fighting alongside other battles, but even his god-like strength could not help him.
