The sequel to the 1986 filmTop Gun,Top Gun: Maverickwas released on August 12, 2025. It’s been almost three months since the movie’s release, but it is still making records at the box office.
Starring Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris, and Val Kilmer, the movie follows the United States Navy Captain Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell. The film follows up on the events after 30 years of the first film. The story follows how Maverick trains a group ofTop Gunpilots for a mission.

Top Gun: Maverick Box Office Collection
The film has so far grossed $7.1 million domestically and $8.4 million from 64 international markets this weekend. After 12 weeks of its release, the movie had collected $673 million at the domestic box office and $704 million internationally.

With a $1.37 billion collection,Top Gun: Maverickis also the 13th highest-grossing film of a time. In this list, the film took overBlack Panther, Harry Potter,the Deathly Hallows Part 2, andStar Wars: The Last Jedi.
The movie has sailed pastTitanicat the domestic box office. And considering the pace it is going forward, it is believed that it will soon take overAvenger: Infinity War. It can also take overBlack Panther’s$700 million domestic lifetime haul.

The movie makers and the studio Paramount seem to have made the best decision by holding on toTop Gun: Maverick. Not justTop Gun: MaverickParamount seems to be having a good year with five theatrical hits in the current year alone.
