The new map that will be released withModern Warfare 3is known as Urzikstan and will have three separate zones that players can explore during their time inZombies.

When players first load into Urzikstan, they will be dropped off on the outer edges of the map, which is rather quiet in terms of enemy population. However, it is a perfect place to find loot and prepare for the battles to come.

As players progress, they can venture further into the map, to a yellow zone that has a higher density of enemies. This will reward players with better weaponry, due to their choice of exploration and risk-taking. Finally, there is the red zone.

This is where the game gets tough, as the biggest hordes and hardest enemies are within this zone. It is also where the players aim, as the chance to shut down the chaos around them is hidden within this zone.

When playing this new open-worldZombiesmode, players will notice some similarities with DMZ, which is currently active withinWarzone.Players will be tasked with exploring this new location in search of loot, resources, and information, with the choice to extract when needed.

The main incentive to extract is to ensure that all the loot that has been earned through that specific playthrough is kept upon leaving Urzikstan; if the player dies, they lose everything they had on them.

Will This New Zombies Mode Use The Same Mechanics As The Original?

During theCODNext livestream, many players were quite excited to see that many of the olderCOD Zombiesmechanics would still be available in this new game mode.

AsCODNext progressed, it was confirmed that perk machines will be placed around the map for players to use, so that they can claim the classic power-ups made popular by the older installments in theCODfranchise.

There is even a pack-a-punch that will be available within the game’s open-world map that will allow players to upgrade their weapons while exploring Urzikstan.

This mechanic gets even better as players will be able to extract with these pack-a-punched weapons, so that they can use them in later runs without getting worse or feeling like a waste of time.

The final piece of information that was shown duringCODNext was regarding the enemies within this new open-world zombie mode.

As players explore this new location, there will be a few different types of enemies that they can encounter.

There will be some standard zombies roaming the streets, some classic elite zombies that can be recognized fromCold War, and even some new enemies of which we have only seen glimpses.
