Call of DutyZombiesis one of the most famous modes of Activision’s billion-dollar franchise. It is also part of one of the most iconic first-person shooter franchises in the world, if not the most iconic.

Call of Duty Zombies mode returns to the franchise with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 after almost 3 years.

With the advancement of technology, Mixed Reality and Virtual Reality games are becoming increasingly popular. It is not a surprise that a Virtual Reality experience coupled with the adventurous and high-octane adventure of aCall of Dutygame’s Zombies mode would be fun to play. One can achieve that in part in the VR gameContractors: VR.

This is now possible, all thanks to modding capabilities and some enthusiastic members of the modding community. Evidence of the same can be found in a YouTuber creator, AwakenToast’s video. The mod is for the gameContractors: VRand is hosted on mod.io. The gameplay looks promising and enjoyable, filled with action involving the undead.

The mod gives the game the round-based zombie-slaying experience ofCall of Duty Zombieswith a religiously recreated map. Everything from the assets to the immersion has been well taken care of in the immaculately designed mod.

Even gameplay elements like building barriers and getting rewarded points from the same. One can even almost identically melee zombies like the originalCall of Duty Zombiesmode as well. The mechanics offered by the mod also seem very convincing. This holds true especially when one considers that it wasn’t built by a AAA studio but an indie modder.

The minuscule details in the mode are like crawler zombies, which don’t leave the player’s tale until they are pumped full of lead. While reloading, one can even check the remaining bullets in the loaded magazine, akin to the originalCall of Duty Zombies. It even features some iconic weapons like 1911 and M14.

Will We Ever See an Actual Call of Duty Zombies Game in VR released by Activision?

Activision has been putting in the work when it comes to revamping theCall of Duty Zombiesexperience. This can be noted with the inclusion of the mode in its latest title,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. This is after the mode was excluded after its last appearance inCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warin 2020.

But when it comes to Activision going the full mile forCall of DutyZombiesin VR, the chances are slim because of the cost of entry.

This is unlikely to be mainstream since not everybody can afford a Virtual Reality headset, and the main revenue generators in this case are different. The most amount of revenue in most first-person shooter games is generated through multiplayer.

Using a Virtual Reality headset for long hours can be nauseating and is definitely not recommended. At the time,Call ofDutyZombiesofficially coming for the VR is a very distant possibility. But at least you still can get a taste of it via this mod.
