It was very obvious from the get go of the first period thatBoston’sbigger break was showing in the first period. They looked sluggish next to theBlues, and it hurt them as theBlueswould score first.Brayden Schennwould pot home the games first goal at the13minutemark by sneaking into the slot and finding the puck, then burring it high blocker onTuukka Rask. Despite the1-0deficit after the1st, the shots were an even8-8andBostonwould find it’s game again comeperiod 2.

However it started looking worse as just1 minuteinto the2ndframe theBlueswould add to their lead. A bad turnover byDavid PastrnaktoSchennwould result in a feed toVladimir Tarasenkowho beatRaskin about the same spot as the1st goalto make it2-0St. Louis. This must have ignited a spark inBostonas it was allBruinsfrom that point forward. In fact it took little over a minute after the2-0 goalfor theBruinsto find the score-sheet. It would beConnor Cliftonwho’d get the puck fromSean Kuralyand he then fluttered it over the outstretched stick ofBluesnet-minderJordan Binnington. with the score now2-1things were heating up and as such more penalties were soon called.Bostonwould tie the game up on one of those powerplays at the12 minute markof the2nd. DefencemanCharlie McAvoywould enter the zone and take a distant shot that ricochet off aBluesdefenceman and pastBinningtonmaking it a2-2tie going into the3rd. The shot count was egregiously1 sidedasBostonput up18 shot to St. Louis’ 3with just1 period to go.

Unfortunately for theBluesthe3rdwas much more like the2ndthan the1st.Bostonwould take the lead around the5 minute markcourtesy ofSean Kuraly. In a mad scramble in front ofBinningtonthe puck found its way to a waitingKuralywho buried it low glove side givingBostontheir first lead of the game at3-2. TheBluesput forth some more shots than the2nd, but none were of really high scoring opportunities. Then at the18 minute mark Brad Marchandwould force a turnover and end the game at4-2with an empty net tally. The shots were closer in the3rdas theBruinsheld a12-9edge, and a38-20shot advantage in the game. TheBruinswill look to improve on their1-0game advantage onWednesday May 29th in Boston, there will be anotherfull Game recapcoming your way after the game sostay tuned.
