Bruce Campbell is an extremely well-known name in the film industry, having starred in a number of extremely notable projects, however, for fans of Marvel and director Sam Rami, he is known as a person who has a habit of making cameos in projects here and there, leaving audiences scratching their heads with confusion. He first appeared inSpider-Man 2, in the form of a hotel usher, and then appeared inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessas a pizza vendor.

Many are using this character’s appearances as hints for something bigger, like villains who have been hiding in plain sight, future plotlines, or a higher being. Recently, Campbell gave an interview, where he may have confirmed one of the biggest theories about his character, opening the gates to something so much bigger. Is his character a multiversal-higher-being?

Bruce Campbell Has No Idea About Who His Character In The MCU Is

Bruce Campbellgave an interview withComicbook.com,where he talked about his two appearances in the MCU, once in Tobey Maguire’sSpider-Manfilms, and most recently in Benedict Cumberbatch’sDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. There is a theory surrounding the character, or characters that the actor played in the franchise, more specifically surrounding the identity of this individual. Based on the fact that Campbell was the first choice for Sam Rami when he was picking a Mysterio for the now-canceledSpider-Man 4, many have speculated that this character could be a version of that.

“You’re assuming that I know anything about Marvel lore, and I appreciate that,”Campbell said.“I watched Doctor Strange in a movie theater, and I was like, ‘What the flying hell are they talking about?” And then there was a guy who was an assistant type guy, and I was talking to him about it, and I go, ‘Man, there’s a lot of words, a lot of dialogue,’ and he goes, ‘Oh, no, no. I needed all of that. I needed to know all of that. I’m so grateful for that movie.’ And I’m like, ‘OK pal.’ So, yeah, I don’t know.”

Campbell addressed these rumors, stating that while this theory is extremely interesting, he thinks that the fans are seriously overestimating how much he knows about the franchise and how much Marvel lets the actor know, with the franchise having a reputation for hiding information from those involved in their projects. He explained that he watched Cumberbatch’s film to try to understand what the people were trying to speculate, however, this came to no avail.

Bruce Campbell Confirms That He Is A Part Of The Multiverse

Despite this, Bruce Campbell explained that the character that he played in Sam Rami’sSpider-Manfilms, the usher, and the one he played in the director’s most recent film, Pizza Poppa inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, are both connected in some way through the multiverse. He went on to explain what he met by this, stating that both of these cameos are from the same character.

“The cameos are like, in the Spider-Man movies — if you know anything about the multiverse, you know now, retroactively, I’m in the multiverse now because of Doctor Strange. I’m not a pizza vendor, OK? That would be a massive mistake to think I’m just a pizza vendor, or an usher, or a ring announcer, or a maître d’. It’s called the multiverse, my friend. So, yes, he is the same character, but we don’t know who he really is. It has not been revealed yet. I just got off the phone with the guys at Marvel, and we’re getting close to finding out.”he then added,“I can’t confirm or deny,”

He explained that fans are still unaware of who this person is as it has not been revealed as of yet, however, he stated that Marvel is close to revealing this information and helping the fans find out the identity of this mysterious creature. This could, perhaps, mean that this character could make an appearance in the franchise in some way or the other.
