Bradley Cooper was once publicly humiliated at a cafe for being a girl despite believing that he was looking cool. This incident happened when he was 10-11 years old. While he was quite mistaken for being a girl while growing up, it didn’t have a major impact on his acting career. From starting his career as a struggling actor, he soon rose to prominence as he made his television debut in 1999’sSex and the City.

He made his cinematic debut with the 2000 movie,Wet Hot American Summerand continued to appear in several projects. He eventually got his breakthrough in the 2009 movie,The Hangoverwhich became a critical and commercial success at the time. The then-rising star gave an insight into his childhood era in a next year interview which revealed about that incident.

Bradley Cooperin an interview withHuffPosttalked about how he was often mistaken for being a girl during his childhood. While he was not sure why people often got confused about him, he believed that it had something to do with his haircut.

He recalled,
“I never lived the life of ‘Oh, you’re so good-looking. People thought I was a girl when I was little, because I looked like a girl–maybe because my mother would keep my hair really long in a bowl cut.”

He further recalled an instance when he was in a coffee shop and the waitress mistook him for a girl. He believed that it was“the worst age”for that confusion since he was 10 or 11 at the time believing that he looked cool.
He continued,

“I was in a coffee shop once and the waitress was like, ‘What do you want, Miss?’ I was 10 or 11– the worst age to have that happen. I had a jean jacket on and a Metallica pin. I thought I was really cool.”
It could have unexpectedly affected him but looks like he had already gotten over what happened in the past. In another interview, he talked about what profession would he opt for other than his acting career.

Back when the actor was promoting his then-new project,Alias, he talked about his potential profession that he would take on other than acting. He revealed that he is quite good at cooking, which opened the opportunity of being a chef.
He toldEntertainment Weekly,
“I used to have buddies come over after kindergarten and I’d cook them food. I prided myself in taking whatever was in the fridge and turning it into lasagna.”
He even had high hopes for being a basketball player when he was 10. He stated,
”I had size 12 feet when I was 10, so I thought I was going to be 6’8”. My goal was to be able to dunk a basket. I wound up being 6’1” with size 14 feet. I got the raw end of the deal.”
Things went in a different direction as he took on acting. While demotion inAliasled him to think about leaving the career altogether, he got his breakthrough with Todd Phillips’The Hangover.He worked on several dramatic projects includingSilver Linings Playbookthat brought him to further prominence. He is quite renowned for voicing Rocket in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
