It was a great scene, to begin with, but the fans were not late in understanding that Netflix’s latest animated series paid a subtle homage to one of the greatest taijutsu users, Rock Lee, in theNarutofranchise.

During the Chunin Exam arc inNaruto, Rock Lee fought against Gaara. It was during episode 48 when Rock Lee was getting overwhelmed by Gaara’s sand maneuvers. So, his sensei, Might Guy, permitted him to remove his body weight. Rock Lee removing his body weights made him much faster, and Gaara had difficulty keeping up with him.
Rock Lee dropping the weights was an iconic moment in anime history. That moment defined the taijutsu master, and it shocked everyone. After so many years,Blue Eye Samuraipaying its tribute to Rock Lee is a great moment for both the fandom.
