Mental health problems have always been one of the most pressing issues to ever exist, even though proper focus and cure for them have only been initiated recently. But like every normal person, even the best of the best celebrities fall victim to the dreadful diseases of anxiety and depression, and Grant Gustin, most famous for his role inThe Flashwas no exception to this.

Everybody loves Grant Gustin for playing one of the most positive heroes from the DC television universe, namely: Barry Allen aka the Flash. But while he is thoroughly cheerful on-screen, his off-screen life hasn’t been one without mental health issues.

Grant Gustin has finally figured out a way to deal with his anxiety and depression

Appearing on theInside of Youpodcast,The Crisis of Infinite Earthsstar explained how he used to have “weird, anxious-type [of] dreams” even as a child. Not only this but when he went to couple’s therapy with his wife Andrea Thoma before tying the knot with her in 2018, he experienced personal issues then as well.

“I knew I had always dealt with anxiety, but getting pinpointed ideas about where things started and why you were feeling that way,” Grant said. “Anxiety is ever-present in my life, for sure.”

After much introspection, Grant Gustin finally came to the realization that many of his anxiety and depression-related problems had stemmed from his inappropriate way of pressuring himself to be perfect. Sharing on theInside of Youpodcast, he disclosed how he has lately been trying to fix the problem in a healthy way.

“I’ve come a long way with taking a little pressure off myself. I’ve always been really hard on myself and I still am, but I put way too much pressure on myself early on and got in my way a lot,” Gustin said. “It gets in your way for sure.”
