One statement in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 brilliantly retcons Andrew Garfield’s Marvel destiny following Spider-Man: No Way Home. Marvel fans finally get a taste of the Multiverse in No Way Home. After the world discovers Peter Parker’s secret identity as Spider-Man, the web-slinger seeks the help of Doctor Strange to magically undo the situation. The enchantment, however, goes bad, and Spider-Man villains from prior Marvel Studios films infiltrate Peter Parker’s world. However, in addition to villains, heroes are also involved in the conflict. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprise their roles as Peter Parker in the film, collaborating alongside Holland’s character to preserve the MCU.

Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is dealing with a sad loss. During his confrontation with Spider-Man, Harry Osborn puts Gwen Stacy in danger. Despite Peter Parker’s best efforts to save Stacy from a perilous fall, her head hits the ground and kills her. Spider-Man has been forced down a dark path, which he refers to in No Way Home. However, near the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the persona reappears to confront Paul Giamatti’s Rhino.
Garfield’s Marvel Future Is Envisioned Perfectly InNo Way Home
Thanks to an Amazing Spider-Man 2 line, No Way Home creates the ideal scenario for Garfield’s Marvel future. The villains and heroes in No Way Home are transported from various points in their respective universes to the MCU. While Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker doesn’t tell much about the time he left his own realm, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 may indicate where he returns. Garfield’s Spider-Man reappears at the end of the film to confront Paul Giamatti’s Rhino.“There’s no place like home,”he says before fighting him. As a result, Marvel could easily rewrite the film’s final line to accommodate Andrew Garfield’s return to the Spider-Man universe.
After His Appearance In No Way Home,Amazing Spider-Man 2Will Prepare Him For A Potential Amazing Spider-Man 3
Garfield’s return to Marvel couldn’t have come at a better time. In The Wizard of Oz, Judy Garland’s Dorothy memorably uttered the statement“no place like home”in her desire to return home. Garfield’s Peter Parker appears to speak the line in Amazing Spider-Man 2 to signify his return to web-slinging following a sabbatical caused by Gwen Stacy’s death. With Garfield’s return in No Way Home, however, the Amazing Spider-Man 2 series opens the door for him to return to his own realm in a future Amazing Spider-Man 3. It’s a fantastic sentence to say when he returns to his timeline, after all.
To make the term work, Marvel will have to be liberal with its retconning. For example, in No Way Home, Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker talks about fighting Rhino in his mechanical suit, yet this doesn’t seem to happen until after he says, “There’s no place like home” in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Marvel, on the other hand, is accustomed to reworking its scenes and phrases. Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker, for example, informs Doc Ock in Spider-Man: No Way Home that he’s “trying to do better,” echoing a statement from Spider-Man 2. Though the retcon may necessitate some plot juggling, Spider-Man excels at it.
