With such massive development, it is hard to not get scared and question the purpose of our jobs. Many continue to resist the revolution being bought by the development and growth of AI whereas many have accepted its brilliance. Maybe accepting and learning to live with its increasing dominance is the best way to move forward. One of them is Hollywood’s pioneer, Michael Douglas, who recently starred inAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

“It’s funny you should mention that. You get to an age where you start thinking about your will and estate. Now I’m thinking I’m also going to have to license my name and likeness so the rights go to my family rather than to the metaverse.”

“I see what AI is doing with pictures with text. It’s only a matter of time before you’ll be able to recreate any dead person at any age with the voice and the mannerisms, so I want to have some control.”

If the actor does sell his Avatar he might earn millions from it. Currently, the actor-producer’s worth is nearly 350 Million dollars but will increase soon. Selling his Avatar will earn him some bucks and allow him to have some control over the AI.

Keanu Reeves expressed his frustration over Deepfake and AI

Another mainstay of Hollywood, Keanu Reeves, has described the ability of other businesses to control his appearance as frightening. He cited the example of being able to participate and provide a performance in a movie, but when you enter deep fake land it is not you anymore in some sense.

“What’s frustrating about that is you lose your agency. When you perform in a film, you know you’re going to be edited, but you’re participating in that,” he said. “If you go into deep fake land, it has none of your points of view.”

“They’re having such cultural, sociological impacts, and the species is being studied. There’s so much ‘data’ on behaviors now. Technologies are finding places in our education, in our medicine, in our entertainment, in our politics, and how we war and how we work.”

The actor expressed his concerns over the sociological impact bought around by this kind of AI. The world is changing at a rate that no one had fathomed, will actors now be replaced with AI? Should they begin to accommodate and learn it? Will AI become an integral part of movie-making? These questions buzz around as more news of AI flood the internet.
