Although Nicholas Hoult effectively captures the human side of the Beast, his transition into the full-fledged blue form can be deemed comical in comparison to Grammer’s. The makeup and prosthetics used to create the blue, furry exterior were seen by some as not effectively capturing the character’s essence, with the design perceived as awkward and the facial features resembling a cat.
On the other hand, Kelsey Grammer’s makeup and prosthetics teams absolutely nailed bringing Beast to life.
